Symbols of Life
Colourful and vibrant paintings, painted objects and photography.
Drawing from the natural world, ecology, and the inner world of symbolism, myth and spirituality, the work aims to express and bring about understanding of the world as alive, interconnected and full of potential.

This show brings together a body of work that is concerned with the nature of Reality, how we see the world, the perceptions we have and particularly the split that has occurred between the inner symbolic and spiritual and the outer urban and western world.

The exhibition includes paintings that explore the symbolism of Astrological and Alchemical systems, inspiration and visionary connections to my Buddhist practise and the world of nature as imbued with spirit.

Painted objects some of which have a spiritual significance are included and relate to my desire to include ordinary objects with greater significance.

Also included are some of my photographs that have been concerned with the nature of perception, as in reflected forms or the shadows of forms and with the colour and form of the natural world.

Whilst working on my pieces I am trying to make space for an experience of inner vision to infuse or take its rightful place with my outer perception and to listen to what is communicated from the world around me.
